Worshipful Company of Dyers

Scope

Trigon was appointed by the Worshipful Company of Dyers to provide fire engineering services for the proposed refurbishment of Dyers Hall in the City of London. Dyers Hall is a Grade II listed building and home to the Worshipful Company of Dyers. The fire engineering works were undertaken for the refurbishment of 11–13 Dowgate Hill, forming part of the wider Dyers Hall project. Key project objectives included enhancing fire safety and improving accessibility.

Our responsibilities included:

  • Setting out how the requirements of the London Plan would be met with respect to fire safety.

  • Developing a detailed fire safety strategy report to support the Building Regulations application.

  • Supporting the design team throughout the development of the scheme from RIBA Stages 2 to 4 and advising on amendments required to achieve compliance with the functional requirements of the Building Regulations.

Results

Early appointment enabled Trigon to work collaboratively with Feilden+Mawson and the wider design team to develop a solution that met the client’s objectives for enhanced fire safety and accessibility, while preserving the character of the historic building and working within the constraints of the listed structure.
