Dorrington Plc (Dorrington) is an established property investor and developer. The company, founded in 1936, is active in both the commercial and residential property sectors. Dorrington’s ‘hands-on’ approach allows continual growth whilst maintaining a clear identify with their occupants, peers and financial partners.

Scope

Trigon was appointed to provide advice through planning and later deliver a fire safety strategy report, suitable for Building Regulation submission, for the Voysey House project in Chiswick. The building, designed by Charles Voysey, was originally built in 1902 as Sanderson’s wallpaper factory and since then has been converted into offices.

The project to continue being use for office space, will see the renovation of the entire existing Grade II* listed building and the reinstating of high-quality finishes to revive the original construction. Lead architects are dMFK.

Our responsibilities included:

  • Developing a robust fire safety strategy addressing the proposed design suitable for Building Regulation submission.

  • Complying with standard fire safety guidance on how to achieve the desired finishes whilst maintaining fire safety.

  • Providing fire engineering support and guidance on how to navigate the issues surrounding a Grade II* listed building whilst maintaining fire safety.

Results

Trigon successfully delivered an effective service to meet the client’s needs. Producing a fire safety strategy for the building that communicates fire safety principles to all stakeholders from the design team to Statutory Authorities and the managing agent.
