Cadence Projects

Scope

Trigon was appointed by Cadence Projects to work closely with CPMG Architects to provide fire engineering services for the development of the new mixed-use development. This three-storey mixed-use building in the East Midlands will provide civic office facilities over three floors, alongside an adjacent two-storey leisure centre consisting of a double-height sports hall, swimming pools, atrium, soft play area, café, and kitchen.

Our responsibilities included:

  • Advising the architectural team throughout RIBA Stages 2 to 3, ensuring the design was coordinated with the fire safety strategy at each stage.

  • Developing an outline fire safety strategy report to support design development and initial consultation with the Registered Building Control Approver [“RBCA”].

  • Given a number of non-standard features within the building, the fire safety strategy to support the Building Regulations submission was developed based on the risk based guidance of BS 9999 to allow the end user flexibility whilst still achieving the highest levels of fire safety.

Results

Being appointed at an early stage in the design meant Trigon could work collaboratively with Cadence Projects and CPMG Architects to develop a solution which met the design intent and the client’s aspirations, whilst prioritising a high standard of fire safety and life safety.
