Scope

Trigon was appointed to work with a fit-out design team to develop a fit-out specific fire safety strategy for a new-built aviation terminal. The facility will include VIP owners’ lounges and bar, fine dining, flight operations command centre, crew and pilot training facilities and airport check-in and baggage management, all dedicated to enhancing the exceptional customer experience.

The fully glazed elevations give full views of the airfield. The building’s exterior features double-glazed curtain walling, solid metal insulated panels and a curved design, to complement existing structures on the airport site.

Our responsibilities included:

• Undertaking a review of the base build fire safety strategy for the new terminal building.

• Liaising with the fit-out design and architectural team, to prepare fit-out specific fire safety strategy to accommodate the different uses and unique interior design.

• Liaising with client, the design team and Approval Authorities to ensure that the detailed design for the new terminal fit-out design achieved compliance with both fire safety legislation, client’s and airport’s objectives.

Results

Trigon provided fire safety engineering support for the new fit-out design for the new VIP terminal. The strategy supports the interior design and vision of a world-class VIP private terminal facility.
