Scope

Trigon was appointed by Neilcott Construction Ltd to work with Scott Brownrigg Architects to provide fire engineering services for the new development of the T-Levels Building at London Design & Engineering University Technical College, located in the Royal Docks area of London. This new three-storey educational building is for students ranging from 16-19 years old and comprises workshops, offices and teaching spaces.

Our responsibilities included:

  • Developing a detailed fire safety strategy report based on the guidance of Building Bulletin 100 to support the Building Regulations submission.

  • Supporting the design team throughout the technical design development, and achieving Building Regulations approval.

  • Attending on-site inspections during construction to confirm the as-built construction met the intent of the fire safety strategy.

Results

Trigon worked closely with the design and construction teams to develop and implement a fire safety strategy which met the required fire safety objectives. The fire safety strategy was submitted as part of the Building regulations submission, which was approved by the Registered Building Control Approver.
