Client

Southwark Council covers a large area of London from Bankside through to Crystal Palace with a diverse built environment.

Scope

Trigon worked with Pitman Tozer Architects at the proposed Heaton Road development. This proposed development is for 8 new council homes (in a 4 storey residential building) comprising 2 one bed flats and 6 two bed flats.

A detailed fire safety strategy was developed outlining how the building complies with Building Regulations functional requirements, while considering the client’s own standards for residential blocks of flats.

Results

One challenge of the fire safety strategy was to consider the architectural design aspiration of an open and inviting ground floor entrance whilst ensuring a sufficient level of protection to the single stair serving upper apartments. We delivered a detailed fire safety strategy covering all aspects to ensure that relevant fire safety information is handed over through future RIBA Stages.
