Client

Caudwell is a luxury property development company founded by English businessman and Phones4U entrepreneur John Caudwell in 2008. The company has a prime real estate portfolio with development projects in the UK and the South of France. As part of their planning permission for their London project referred to as Audley Square, they have recently funded the redevelopment of Farm Street to provide a brand new replacement Street Cleaning Depot with 14 affordable residential units on the upper floors. The Depot is a vital service provided by Westminster in a strategically important location in the heart of Mayfair.

Scope

Trigon was appointed to work with Caudwell, Westminster City Council, MSMR Architects and the project team on the Farm Street project to develop a detailed fire safety strategy report to meet the functional requirements of the Building Regulations 2010 as well as the clients’ own standards.

Trigon was working with the design team to provide a high-quality design for affordable housing provision in central London, Mayfair.

Results

Our team developed a holistic fire safety strategy addressing the mixed-use development including affordable housing, offices and depot for street sweeping vehicle. Part of the fire safety strategy was providing a robust justification for the proposed open-plan apartment layouts.

“It was a pleasure to work with Trigon. Karl and his team were quick to respond to our requirements and provided clear and pragmatic advice in a format that enabled the project team to fully satisfy the statutory requirements.” Kevan Buckley, Chief Construction Officer, Caudwell
