Scope

Built in the late 1960s, Broadwater Farm has undergone numerous refurbishment and alterations over the past five decades. Trigon was appointed in 2020 to work with leading architectural practice Karakusevic Carson Architects (KCA) to redevelop the Broadwater Farm estate. The works will deliver 294 new council homes, arranged over three sites (Tangmere, Northolt, and the former Moselle School), along with a range of local retail, business, and community spaces, set within a series of high-quality landscaped spaces, routes and public realm.

Our responsibilities included:

  • Work with the design team to develop an outline fire safety strategy for a number of different blocks of flats spread over three sites; including Planning Gateway One (PGO) fire statement for consultation with regulator (the HSE).

  • Support client and design team during planning application and response to changing landscape of regulations and guidance.

  • Attend design team meetings and workshops to support team of architects and other members of the design team.

Results

Trigon worked closely with KCA and the remainder of the design team to successfully deliver the outline fire safety strategy to support the planning application, which was granted formal approval in December 2022.
