Scope

Trigon collaborated with Sheppard Robson architects to deliver a fire strategy for the proposed design for a new hotel. The hotel will contain approximately 311 rooms with a ground floor café/bar, rooftop restaurant at fourteenth floor level and co-working spaces and event space.

Our responsibilities included:

  • Developing a robust fire safety strategy for the building considering the limitations of the site through RIBA Stages 2, 3 and 4.

  • Develop a fire safety strategy addressing the proposed design including the advice on the use of a watermist system and undertaking detailed external fire spread calculations for a complex façade, aspects of which were close to the relevant boundaries.

  • Provide advice on new technology, such as electric bikes with lithium-ion batteries and photovoltaic panels as part of the fire safety strategy.

Results

Trigon supported the client and design team from an initial site visit throughout planning and detailed design.

Working closely with the design team to develop the design of a hotel that incorporates the clients’ desires and achieves specific regulatory goals.
