Scope

No 2 & 3 The Square in Richmond, London, are two adjacent demises comprising mixed use including office and retail accommodation.

Trigon were appointed to advice on fire safety considerations revolving around the refurbishment and reconfiguring of the building. The existing layout and building constraints led to some fire safety challenges.

Results

Trigon applied fire engineering principles to ensure the proposals met the fire life safety objectives whilst enabling the client’s and architects’ aspirations of maintaining key features of the existing building whilst increasing lettable floor area. Close coordination with the design team assisted an early understanding of the fire safety measures proposed. The fire safety strategy clearly set out alternative fire safety approaches adopted and assisted with the prompt approval from the Approval Authorities.
