Scope
Trigon was appointed to work with a design team including Hale Brown Architects to prepare the fire safety strategy to support a comprehensive office refurbishment. Bloomsbury Quarter, formerly known as the Holborn Links Estate, is located in the heart of London, Phase Two incorporates works at 31 Southampton Row. The works comprise both external and internal renovations and include: creating a new welcoming office entrance on Sicilian Avenue, reconfiguring retail units, improving office floors, and introducing end of trip facilities.
Our responsibilities included:
Undertaking feasibility studies considering multiple design options, and assisting the team by identifying project and approval risks at an early stage.
Developing comprehensive fire safety strategy and liaising with the design team and Approval Authorities to assist with the navigation of the approach to developing the existing mixed-use building.
Support during construction where alternative approaches needed to be develop to address existing issues discovered during construction.
Results
Trigon produced a fire safety strategy addressing the requested changes to this existing mixed-use building, setting out how the functional requirements of the Building Regulations would be met.
