Client
Ramboll
Scope
Trigon was appointed by Ramboll to work with Stanton Williams Architects to provide fire engineering services regarding the proposed redevelopment of the Fleming Centre, located in Paddington. The scheme incorporates a group of historic canal-side industrial warehouses, to provide a new research and public engagement facility comprising clinical areas, laboratories, clean rooms and workspaces, alongside public exhibition space and a series of social/collaborative spaces.
Our responsibilities included:
Developing a fire safety strategy report to support the planning application.
Supporting the design team throughout the design development, and advising how the design proposals should be amended to achieve compliance with the functional requirements of the Building Regulations.
Liaising with the design team, stakeholders, and the Approval Authorities to agree the principles of the fire safety strategy.
Results
Being appointed at an early stage in the design meant Trigon could work collaboratively with Stanton Williams Architects and the wider design team to develop a solution which met the design intent, addressed the constraints of the existing building, and maintained a high standard of fire safety.
