Graduate Fire Engineer, Ryan Collins Tells Us What It’s Like Working At Trigon Fire Safety

“Since graduating from university, I have been employed as a Graduate Fire Engineer at Trigon Fire Safety. Throughout my time at Trigon, I have been able to develop my fire engineering knowledge through the application of regulatory and guidance documents, whilst developing bespoke fire safety solutions for a range of projects, varying across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.

The hands on, direct involvement in a wide range of projects was something that appealed to me. Being able to coordinate with wider members of design teams to incorporate fire safe design throughout projects, in real time, is an element of the job I largely enjoy. Moreover, the mentorship scheme and internal graduate training programme that is offered at Trigon ensures that the technical knowledge and skills I am developing are engaging and challenging, whilst being directly applicable to various ongoing projects.

The team at Trigon consists of several senior and Chartered Engineers with decades of experience in fire safety who are always keen to support with any questions or queries I may have throughout my development. Alongside project work, Trigon have massively supported and encouraged my continual learning and professional development. The senior team are always available to discuss future opportunities for growth, whilst constantly helping me work towards my personal short and long-term goals.

Overall, my experience at Trigon thus far has been one where I can confidently say that I am having a positive impact on the built environment and feel like I am a valued member of the team. I am extremely grateful for both the technical and non-technical support offered by Trigon and believe the skills and knowledge I am compounding as a graduate fire engineer will lead to many exciting opportunities in the future.”
