A Chartered Engineer and a registered Life Safety Assessor on the Institution of Fire Engineers Fire Risk Assessor Register. With over 15 years of practice in projects across the built environment, David is passionate about fire engineering and safety.

Having gained a first-class Master’s Engineering degree from the University of Edinburgh, David focused on advancing his expertise as a professional consultant fire engineer. Demonstrating this by developing fire strategies, often using complex fire engineering techniques (such as CFD, structural and evacuation modelling) and numerous fire safety management plans for complex premises.

Experienced in applying both British and International design codes, he has delivered fire safety consultancy services for new build and alterations in the UK and worldwide. David has been called upon by clients for his professional opinion in complex legal cases, cementing his reputation within the industry as an accomplished fire engineer.

David assists the IFE by reviewing applications for the Engineering Council Chartered Engineer registration including candidate’s professional review reports. Further contributing to the IFE as a member of their Special Interest Group on Fire Modelling.
