
Chris Hallam BSc(Hons) PhD CEng MIFireE MCIBSE
Chris is a Chartered Engineer through the Institution of Fire Engineers, and is also a member of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers. He started his career in fire safety engineering following completion of his PhD in 2001.
Chris has extensive experience in most sectors, including large transport infrastructure projects, residential developments, shopping centres, stadia, offices, hospitals, warehouse and industrial complexes, education and public buildings.
Chris enjoys applying fire engineering techniques and developing novel solutions to what are often complex problems. Chris also has a keen interest in the application of Fire Engineering in Building Services design, and has co-authored a number of chapters of CIBSE Guide E Fire Engineering.
Chris has led the fire safety design in a number of very large and complex schemes, from inception to completion, including Heathrow’s Terminal 2. Chris was awarded the “Fire Safety Strategy of the Year” award by the UK Chapter of the SFPE (Society of Fire Protection Engineers), for the highly complex £1billion Manchester Airport Terminal 2 extension.
